JES receives $67.5m shipbuilding order from Pertamina

China shipbuilding firm JES International Holdings Limited announced on Monday that it had secured order from state oil and gas company PT.Pertamina to build a 85,000 long tonne deadweight (LTDW) Aframax crude oil tanker for US$67.5 million.

JES has received an initial US$12.4 million deposit or 18% of the value of the contract from Pertamina and the newbuild is the third oil tanker that JES is building for Pertamina, the company said, adding that the newbuild contract price is approximately 10% higher than each of the two previous orders from Pertamina.

JES will construct the latest Pertamina newbuild at its new yard at Shiwei Port, Jingjiang City, in Jiangsu province. (alex)
