JFX to release coal contracts

Jakarta Futures Exchange (JFX) plans to release coal and rubber futures contracts this year end as effort to increase multinational transaction volume of futures exchange.

JFX Director Bihar Sakti Wibowo said that both coal and rubber are among the top commodities in Indonesia.

"We are in final stage to release contracts of coal and rubber. We expect to launch the trading of the two commodities this year end," he said as quoted by Bisnis Indonesia.

Futures contract trading is among others aimed to fulfill hedging instrument need, margin trading, short period investment, short or long positions, bearish-bullish-oriented investment, position limit.

Indonesia is home to the world's largest exporter of thermal coal.(*)
