JGC awarded lube plant project in Indonesia

JGC Indonesia, Japan's JGC Corporation's Indonesian subsidiary, has been awarded a contract for the construction of a lubricants production plant in Bekasi, West Java, Indonesia by PT. JX Nippon Oil & Energy Lubricants Indonesia, a local joint venture between JX Nippon Oil & Energy Corporation (80%) and Andalan Group (20%).
The contract, awarded on a lump-sum turnkey basis, calls for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) for the lubricants plant, as well as commissioning support. The plant will have a production capacity of 40,000 kiloliters/year of lubricating oils, and is scheduled for completion in March of 2012.
The purpose of the project is to provide PT. JX Nippon Oil & Energy Lubricants Indonesia with a new production base for lubricant oils for sale in the expanding domestic market, JGC said.(alex)
