JGC receives order for Offshore Gas Processing Facilities

Japanese engineering and construction firm JGC Corporation announced Thursday that along with U.S. engineering firm Kellogg Brown & Root it has received an order for a floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel in Natuna Sea, Indonesia.

The order, which is from Conoco Indonesia Inc., is valued at around 70 billion yen while JGC's portion of the order is valued at about 14 billion yen.

The floating plant will be situated in the Belanak oil and gas field, which is located in ocean waters within Indonesia's territory.

JGC will be in charge of designing liquefied petroleum gas production facilities.

The order is JGC's first for a floating plant.(*)
