JGC, Sinar Mas team up to build coal water mixture fuel plant

Japanese engineering firm JGC Corporation will team up with Indonesian conglomerate Sinar Mas Group and government?s Agency for Coal and Mineral Technology (Tekmira) to build a coal water mixture fuel (CWMF) processing facility in Jambi, south Sumatra.
Tekmira Head Bukin Daulay told reporters that the plant, with capacity to produce 10,000 tonnes of CWMF per annum with investment of US$27 million.
Bukin said that CWMF can be used to substitute petroleum based fuel oil.
He said the plant will become operational in late 2011 or early 2012.
CWMF is low CV coal mixed with water and certain additives and has similar properties to that of fuel oil.(godang)
