JICA to provide loans for 3 projects

The government of Indonesia and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) concluded on March 28 loan agreements for the provision of Japanese ODA loans up to 10,142 million yen for three projects.
The first one is the construction of high-efficiency coal-fired power plant to improve power supply capacity in the capital region load center of Java-Bali system.
The Indramayu Coal Fired Power Plant Project (E/S) will construct a 1,000 megawatt, high-efficiency coal-fired power plant applying ultra super critical (USC) steam condition, a state-of-the-art technology, and supply power to Jabodetabek and West Java Province, load center of Java-Bali system.
The second one centers on supporting geothermal development in Indonesia's eastern areas.
The so-called Geothermal Development Acceleration Program (Tulehu Geothermal Power Plant Project (E/S)) will construct a 20-megawatt geothermal power plant to replace the aging diesel power plant in Ambon Island.
The third project is the enhancement of flood management in the Bandung Metropolitan Area.
The project is called the Upper Citarum Basin Flood Management Sector Loan, which is to implement the structural measures such as river improvement works, as well as non-structural measures including institutional strengthening for the Citarum River Basin Organization and capacity development for community against flood disaster.
