JOB Jambi Merang to start first gas supply to Chevron

Pertamina Hulu Energi's (PHE) director of operation Eddy Purnomo said in Jakarta on Tuesday that the Jambi Merang gas field would soon begin supplying gas to PT Chevron Pacific Indonesia in accordance with the sales purchase agreement.
He said that the gas supply was expected to begin on March 20 with an initial volume of 20 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd). ?The volume will be gradually increased to 60 mmscfd by the end of the month,? he added.
PHE?s subsidiary, PT PHE Jambi Merang which owns a 50 percent interest in the block acts as the operator. Talisman Jambi Merang and Pacific Oil and Gas hold a 25 percent interest, respectively in the block.
Eddy said that the block?s production was projected to reach 144 mmscfd of gas and 4,000 barrels of condensate per day within the next seven years.
JOB Jambi Merang also plans to build a liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) extraction facility with a total investment of US$80 million. The project is expected to be completed in 2014. (giok)
