The joint operating body (JOB) of Pertamina-Medco has secured a rig, paving the way for the operator to begin the drilling a developing well in Tiaka field, within the Senoro-Toili Block, Sulawesi Island, in late May or early June the latest.
Salis S. Aprilian, President Director of Pertamina Hulu Energy (PHE) told Petromindo.com that it takes about a month to mobilize the rig to the field, therefore the company reset the drilling date to early June the latest.
?We initially planned to begin drilling in January 2012. However, the drilling was delayed due to unavailability of rig,? he said.
The joint operating body plans to drill three wells this year and two more wells in 2013.
The ownership in the Tiaka field is 50 percent by PHE, 30 percent by a subsidiary of PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk and the remaning 20 percent by Tomori E&P Limited. The Tiaka field will supply natural gas to the Donggi-Senoro LNG project, to be developed by PT Donggi-Senoro LNG (PT DSLNG).
