JOB Pertamina Petrochina Salawati reactivates wells

Joint Operating Body (JOB) Pertamina-PetroChina Salawati has been able to reactivate several wells in TBA Salawati field within Kepala Burung PSC in West Papua with production above target, state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina (Persero) said in a statement on Thursday.

Early production from the reactivation of two wells in the field, namely TBA-#4 dan TBA-#3, carried out on Oct. 21, 2015 was 2.414 bopd and 2.85 mmscfd, which was above the average production target for the first month of 1450 bopd. The two development wells are located offshore, ?45 km southwest of Salawati Island.

Two other wells, TBA-#4 and TBA-#3 wells, were shut down temporarily on June 4, 2015 due to the expiry of the leasing contract of Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) even though they were still economical for production. The wells have resumed production since Oct. 21, 2015 thanks the availability of FPSO Brotojoyo which has the capacity of 450,000 barrels.
