JOB Pertamina-Petrochina stops oil leak

JOB PPEJ said in a statement on Friday that the firm received information from fishermen about the oil leak at 9.25 am local time and immediately sent a team to the location.
The leak occurred on the subsea pipeline that transmits the oil production of the Sukowati and Mudi fields, owned by JOB PPEJ, as well as Pertamina EP Aset 4 Cepu and PEPC (Geolink) from the Central Processing Area in Rahayu village, Soko district to the Floating Storage and Offloading (FSO) Cinta Natomas
In order to stop the leak, the JOB PPEJ team deactivated two of three existing transfer pumping units and shut off the valve at the Palang station to stop oil flow to the subsea pipeline.
P Fauzy A. Mayanullah, Field Operation Superintendent of JOB PPEJ, said the leak has been effectively stopped as of 5.20 pm and the firm is coordinating with a diver team to check the leaked pipeline underwater once the weather condition is favorable.
