JOB PPEJ?s general manager Suryadi Oemar said as quoted by BPMIGAS' website on Monday that the company had submitted its stage-4 plan of development (POD) proposal to the upstream oil and gas regulatory body to conduct the drilling activities.
?The company is still waiting for the approval of its Amdal (analysis on environmental impact assessment) from the state ministry for environmental affairs,? he said, adding that the company hoped the approval for the POD and Amdal could be approved in August of this year so that the drilling works could be commenced in September.
With the increase in the number of production wells, PPEJ hopes it will be able to increase its oil production to 52,000 barrels per day until the end of this year. The oil will be pumped out from 14 production wells in the Mudi field, another 14 wells in the Sukowati field and two other wells in the Lenggowangi field.
At present, PPEJ produces crude oil of about 40,000 barrels per day and gas of about 31 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD). The company distributes 5 MMSCFD of gas to Petrokimia Gresik and uses 6 MMCFD to support its own facilities and the remaining is for flare stack. (bernard)
