JOB Pertamina-PetroChina to explore eight wells in East Java

Joint Operating Body (JOB) Pertamina and China’s oil and gas company PetroChina will start exploring eight oil and gas fields in four regencies in East Java in May 2007, with an investment of US$32 million, Bisnis Indonesia reported Friday.

JOB Pertamina-PetroChina’s exploration manager Sopandi Tosin said that the exploration activities by the two companies will include the drilling of three oil and gas fields - South Bungoh, Bogomiring Baru and Lengowangi-2 in Gresik Regency.

Under the JOB Pertamina-PetroChina’s eight onshore/offshore fields exploration plan, the companies will also explore three fields located in Bojonegoro regency, one in Tuban and one in Lamongan.
