JOB Pertamina-Talisman plans to drill six more oil and gas wells in their concession area in the villages of Paninjauan and Saung Naga in Ogan Komering Ulu, South Sumatra.

The field manager of Pertamina-Talisman, Indra Hadi Prayitno said in the regency's capital of Baturaja Wednesday that the drilling activities in the two villages would be carried out some time next month.

"If we can find oil or gas with feasible reserves, the wells will be put into operation as soon as possible," he told local newspaper Palembang Pos, following the company's briefing on the drilling plan with the local government's senior officials.

He said that a seismic exploration carried out in 2004 indicated that some parts of the concession area in Paninjauan and Saung Naga villages had potential oil and gas reserves.

Paninjauan and Saung Naga villages are part of Ogan Komering Block. Talisman holds 50 percent interest and the remainder are owned Pertamina.

At present, JOB Pertamina-Talisman operates 50 oil wells in the area, with production capacity of about 4,400 barrels per day.(*)
