JOB Pertamina-Talisman to produce more oil

JOB (Joint Operating Body) Pertamina-Talisman is expected to produce a target of 6,066 barrels of oil per day from the Ogan Komering block onshore South Sumatra, up 15 percent from last year?s output, Investor Daily reported on Wednesday.

JOB Ogan Komering general manager Zakaria Harun said in a bid to reach the target, the company would drill 13 production wells, four injection wells and one exploration well. He added that in the past five years, the JOB had managed to meet production target, and he was upbeat it would be able to repeat the success this year.

In 2010, the JOB produced 2.6 barrels of oil equivalent (boe), up 115 percent from the target of 2.27 boe.

Zakaria, however, pointed to electricity shortage that would likely hamper the efforts to meet the target. To overcome the problem, he said, the JOB has installed an additional 1 MW power generator and changed power distribution cables. (*)
