JOB PHE-PetroChina completes drilling at Zircon-1 well

Joint operation body (JOB) PT Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) Salawati-Petrochina International Kepala Burung Ltd has completed drilling at the Zircon-1 exploration well in the Salawati Kepala Burung PSC, in West Papua Province.
?Drilling at the Zircon-1 offshore well has been completed, and the logging data shows indication of hydrocarbon,? Afif Syaefuddin, General Manager of the JOB, which operates the PSC, told Petromindo.com on Monday. He added that drill stem test-1 is currently underway to allow for further analysis of the hydrocarbon potential.
Afif added, that JOB PHE-PetroChina Kepala Burung (Salawati) Ltd this year will only conduct drilling program at two exploration wells.
In September, Singapore-based RH Petrogas Ltd, another shareholder of the Salwati Kepala Burung PSC, said that after the drilling at the Zircon-well has been completed, the rig will be moved to drill the Koi-2 appraisal well.
RH Petrogas through its wholly owned subsidiaries Petrogas (Island) Ltd. and RHP Salawati Island B.V. has an aggregate 33.21 percent working interest in the Island PSC. The other partners in the Island PSC are PetroChina International Kepala Burung Ltd. (16.79 percent) and PT Pertamina Hulu Energi Salawati (50 percent). The Island PSC is operated by JOB Pertamina-PetroChina Salawati, which is a joint operating body formed between Pertamina and PetroChina.
