JOB PPEJ: Oil production at Sukowati field increases

Oil production at Sukowati field in Tuban block, Bojonegoro Regency, East Java, has increased to 13,500-14,000 bpd from 12,000-12,500 bpd during the past week, Antara Jatim reported.

Field Manager of Joint Operating Body (JOB) Pertamina-PetrochinaEast Java (PPEJ) Sugeng Setiyono said on Wednesday that the higher output was a result of revamping efforts on aging wells which had suffered from natural production decline.

He added that JOB-PPEJ will not carry out new well development program at Sukowati field this year due the current oil price drop.

He said that preparations for the development of Field C will be made if oil price recovers to US$ 60 per barrel.

Tuban block is operated by JOB-PPEJ. As Joint Operation Body, Pertamina Hulu Energi (PHE) holds 75 percent participating interest and PetroChina East Java holds the remaining 25 percent.(*)
