JOB-PPEJ to drill 11 wells at Sukowati field

Joint Operating Body Pertamina-PetroChina East Java (JOB-PPEJ) plans to drill 10 development wells and one exploration well at the Sukowati field in the Tuban block, in East Java, next year.

Field Administration Superintendent at JOB-PPEJ, Hananto Aji said in Bojonegoro, East Java, on Thursday that his company was currently in coordination with the upstream oil and gas authority as well as the local administrations regarding the drilling program.

Oil production at the Sukowati field peaked at 45,000 bopd last year, and has since on a natural declining trend.

Hananto said that current production at the field, with 26 wells, stands at 31,600 bopd, or only about 93 percent of this year?s target of 36,000 bopd.
