JOGMEG eyeing East Indonesian exploration block

Japan Oil, Gas & Metals National Corporation (JOGMEG) is eyeing to acquire an exploration block in Eastern part of Indonesia, a government official said on Friday.

Edy Hermantoro, Upstream Director at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources said that JOGMEG has applied to conduct a joint study to assess the potentiality of the block.

Under the joint study system, JOGMEG will conduct preliminary study and will have first priority to acquire the block under Direct Offer mechanism should the company find the block has potential to contain oil, gas. (bernard)
