Jokowi names Kuntoro as new PLN chief commissioner

President Joko ?Jokowi? Widodo has proposed Kuntoro Mangkusubroto, as the new Chief Commissioner of state-owned electricity company PT PLN, replacing Chandra Hamzah.

?Pak (honorific) Kuntoro has been asked by the President to become Chief Commissioner of PLN,? said Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Sudirman Said on Tuesday.

Kuntoro, a former minister of mining, and former president director of state-owned enterprises including PLN, is expected to help accelerate reform drive at PLN.

Sudirman said that a PLN shareholders meeting will be held on Thursday to decide on the proposed appointment of Kuntoro. (*)
