Dahlan was quoted by Bisnis Indonesia Friday as saying that Jonan feared that the upcoming new government has its own candidate for the PLN top post. Jonan is also seen as a popular candidate for the Minister of Transportation post under the upcoming new government of President elect Joko Widodo.
As reported earlier by this portal, Dahlan offered Jonan a promotion to take the top post at PLN to replace current President Director Nur Pamudji.
Jonan, a former executive of Citibank/Citigroup, was appointed as KAI?s president director in 2009. He is lauded for his success to implement a modern management in the firm and turned the firm into a respected state owned firm.
It remains unclear why Dahlan wants to replace Nur Pamudji. Last year, Nur sent a letter to Dahlan, saying he wanted to resign. According to the media, he offered the resignation in protest against the prosecution of several PLN?s executives in North Sumatra by the public attorney?s office on charges of corruption. Nur believed the PLN?s executives did nothing wrong. (*)
