JSK secures contracts to transport 5.8 MTPA of coal

National shipping company PT Jaya Samudra Karunia (JSK) Shipping has secured contracts to transport 5.8 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of coal to state electricity company PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) and Guodian Power Plant of China.
About 4.3 million tonnes a year would be shipped to PLN?s Tanjung Jati B coal-fired power plant's Unit 3 and 4 for a period of 14 years, the company?s president director Dennis SK said during a ceremony to receive an ISO9001-2008 certificate from SGS in Jakarta on Friday evening.
Dennis said that the company would also transport about 1.5 million tonnes a year to the Chinese company for a period of five years.
He said with the success to obtain the ISO9001:2008 certificate for provision of shipping and chartering, the company would be able to further improve its shipping services in accordance to international standards. (*)
