JSX suspends trading of both Bumi and EMP shares

The Jakarta Stock Exchange (JSX) has suspended the trading of shares of coal mining company PT Bumi Resources and oil and gas company PT Energi Mega Persada Tbk on Thursday, pending an explanation from the companies on the companies? merger plans reported by the Bisnis Indonesia daily on Thursday.
"We are currently asking both companies on their merger plans," the Jakarta bourse said in a statement.
The daily quoted sources in both the capital market and the government as saying that a letter regarding the merger plan has been sent to the Capital Market Supervisory Board (Bapepam) recently.
Meanwhile, other source said that the merger proposal has not yet been sent to the Bapepam. (Robert)
