The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR) has lowered the reference price for biodiesel for June 2026, while the benchmark price for bioethanol rose slightly from the previous month.
In separate statements issued on June 2, the ministry's Directorate General of New and Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) said the Market Index Price (Harga Indeks Pasar/HIP) for biodiesel was set at Rp14,643 per litre, excluding transportation costs, effective June 1, 2026.
The figure is down from Rp14,917 per litre in May, reflecting a monthly decline of about 1.8%.
The biodiesel pricing formula continues to refer to Presidential Regulation No. 132/2024 on plantation fund management, with the crude palm oil (CPO) conversion value maintained at US$85 per metric ton.

Transportation costs will be applied separately in accordance with Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Decree No. 290.K/EK.05/MEM.E/2025.
Meanwhile, the HIP for bioethanol was set at Rp8,062 per litre for June, up from Rp7,992 per litre in May.
The bioethanol pricing mechanism refers to Ministerial Decree No. 6034K/12/MEM/2016 on the market index price for biofuels blended into petroleum fuels.
Indonesia reviews biodiesel and bioethanol reference prices on a monthly basis as part of efforts to support its mandatory biofuel blending programme, promote renewable energy development and reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
