On December 19, 2008 the Company filed a technical report entitled 'PT Jelai Cahaya Minerals - Resource Calculation for the Mewet Vein, Jelai Gold Project - Kabupaten Bulungan, East Kalimantan, Indonesia' dated December 12, 2008 written by Brett Dennis Gunter (mAusIMM) on the Company's PT Jelai Cahaya Minerals property that supported an initial mineral resource estimate announced by a press release on November 11, 2008.
The Company wishes to clarify certain publicly disclosed technical information as follows:
- At the time the Report was prepared and filed Mr. Gunter, the author of the Report was not independent as defined in National Instrument 43-101 ('NI 43-101') because Mr. Gunter had been granted a total of 130,000 stock options of the Company and accordingly, the Report was not prepared by an independent 'qualified person'as defined under NI 43-101.
- The resource estimate referred to in the Report was not prepared in compliance with NI 43-101, as the Report was not prepared by an independent qualified person. The Company recognises that the resource estimate referred to in the Report may be mis-leading to the public as it is not compliant with NI 43-101. Therefore the Company wishes to retract any and all reference to the resource estimate on the PT Jelai Cahaya Minerals property. The resource estimate contained in the Report should not be relied upon.
The Company intends to file an amended technical report prepared in compliance with NI 43-101 within the next 30 days which will refer to the mineralized deposit at the PT Jelai Cahaya Minerals property as an exploration target. The exploration target is the potential quantity and grade, expressed as ranges, of a potential mineral deposit that will be the target of further exploration. It is conceptual in nature and there is insufficient exploration to define a mineral resource. It is uncertain if further exploration will result in the target being delineated as a mineral resource.(end of release)
