The manpower office of the provincial administration of East Kalimantan has strongly warned coal mining company PT Bukit Baiduri Energi (BBE) for not reporting a work accident in its mining location, Kaltim Post reported on Wednesday.

The head of the local manpower office Sudirman Nasution said in Samarinda on Tuesday that the company had been asked to temporarily stop its coal hauling activities as the penalty for not reporting the work accident.

"As the accident involved dump trucks, the company's hauling activities would be temporarily stopped," he said. "We would also carry out investigation at the company which operates coal mining sites in Samarinda and Kutai Kartanegara," he added.

Two workers Udin and Cup Hermawan were killed when the company's dump trucks collided at the company's mining site last week. Other worker Sanusi is being treated at the local hospital due to a serious injury. (*)
