Kalog to build coal warehouse

PT Kereta Api Logistik (Kalog), a subsidiary of state-owned railway firm PT Kereta Api Indonesia, plans to start next year construction of a coal warehouse in Keramasan, Palembang, South Sumatra, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Tuesday.

The paper quoted Kalog President Director Budi Noviantoro as saying that the Rp 600 billion warehouse will have a capacity of up to 6 million tons of coal, and would initially serve the production of coal miner PT Bukit Asam Tbk (PTBA).

He added that Kalog has signed a MoU with PTBA to handle the latter?s coal output. Budi said that construction is expected to be completed within a year. (*)
