Kalrez commences development drilling at Bula PSC

Australian listed oil and gas firm Kalrez Energy Ltd announced Monday that that its wholly owned subsidiary Kalrez Petroleum (Seram) Limited as operator of the Bula Block Production Sharing Contract (PSC) on Seram Island in Eastern Indonesia has commenced its development drilling on July 20th 2001, with well 72K-4.
The company said on July 22nd 2001, 13-3/8" surface casing had been set at 23.1 meters, and drilling was continuing at 60.35 meters in 12-1/4" hole.
The company planned to drill to 120 meters and then run electrical logs.
Subject to formation depth correlation, 9-5/8" casing would then be set, prior to drilling into the producing reservoir and completing the well with a gravel pack screen, said the company in a statement.
The company said well 72K-4 was the first of 15 wells programmed to be drilled in financial year 2001-2002, using PT Prima Jasa Energi Rig# 482, on contract to Kalrez Petrolem (Seram) Limited. (alex)
