ASX-listed coal upgrading firm White Energy Corporation (WEC) said its East Kalimantan subsidiary PT Kaltim Supacoal (KSC) is in discussion with energy companies from Asia and the US to buy its briquette products.

?KSC wishes to enter into agreements with a reasonably large number of selected buyers in order to establish a strong, long term distribution network,? it said in presentation material statement on Wednesday.

The company said that it was on track to full commercial production in the end of December this year.

KSC has significantly upgraded the calorific value of its coal, maintained the low ash content of its sub-bituminous feedstock and improved the combustion efficiencies of its product at power plants

WEC, together with partner Indonesian coal producer PT Bayan Resources, is also building a coal upgrading plant in Tabang with a production capacity of 1 million tons per annum (MTPA). The partnership is planning to increase the capacity to 5 MTPA.(denny)
