ASX-listed Kangaroo Resources Ltd said that PT Seascape Surveys Indonesia has completed its bathymetric survey of the Mahakam River from a location near the town of Melak, East Kalimantan, to the intended location of PT Graha Panca Karsa?s (GPK) barge loading facilities, a distance of approximately 78 kilometers.

GPK is Kangaroos Indonesian coal subsidiary. The concession covers 5,060 hectares near Melak. Large coal deposits are strategically located in close proximity to the Mahakam River.

The company said in a statement on Tuesday it expects to receive the final survey report in mid-November 2017.

Elsewhere, GPK has drilled seven holes totaling approximately 334 meters to complete its drilling program at GPK within the Pinjam Pakai area. This brings the total holes drilled under this program to 42 and 1,857.65 meters. The program aimed to confirm / validate historical drilling works performed by a previous explorer as well as gain a better understanding of the coal seam geology.

The company said it has appointed PT RungePincockMinarco to report exploration results to 2012 JORC standard.
