ASX-listed Kangaroo Resources Ltd said that the government of Indonesia has issued the so-called clear and clean (C&C) certificates for its PT Tiwa Abadi and PT Tanjur Jaya coal concessions, which are part of the Pakar concessions in East Kalimantan.
The company said in a statement last week that efforts are underway for other coal concessions in the Pakar concessions to obtain the C&C certification.
The government has required coal miners to have C&C certification for their concessions as proof that they have paid financial obligations to the state properly and are not in breach of other government regulations including overlapping of permits. Those failing to obtain the C&C certificate will have their permits be revoked by the provincial governments.
Elsewhere, Kangaroo said the government of Indonesia has also granted the company?s requests for exploration license suspensions/extensions to PT Tiwa Abadi, PT Tanur Jaya, PT Dermaga Energi, PT Orkida Makmur and PT Sumber Api due to ongoing delays in obtaining further approvals related to forestry.
?Work continues on long term mine planning including work on design and planning of river and stream diversions required during the anticipated life of the mines,? the company added.
According to company website, the Pakar concessions consist of nine contiguous concession areas that cover a total area of 35,572 Ha located in Kutai Kartanegara Regency, East Kalimantan. The concessions are PT Tiwa Abadi (TA), PT Tanur Jaya (TJ), PT Dermaga Energi (DE), PT Orkida Makmur (OM), PT Sumber Api (SA), PT Cahaya Alam (CA), PT Bara Sejati (BS), PT Apira Utama (AU) and PT Silau Kencana (SK).
According to JORC compliant report of March 2011, Pakar is estimated to have 16 million tons (Mt) of Proven Reserves, 428Mt of Probable Reserves along with 111Mt of Measured Resources, 1092Mt of Indicated Resources and 1816Mt of Inferred Resources.
