The company, which inaugurated the accumulated production as the block operator on Wednesday, said that of the total production 10 million BOE was produced from the fields of Pagerungan, PUO and Sepanjang, and 10 million BOE from the wells of TEO 1, 2, 2, 4 and 5 in Terang field.
?The production we?re now enjoying is the result of surveys and exploration drillings conducted before. KEI has now reached a milestone of production as a result of the surveys and drillings,? upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas Chairman Rudi Rubiandini said when addressing the inauguration ceremony of the milestone production on Wednesday.
Rudi called on KEI to continue on realizing its program of conducting exploration drillings as only through the drillings the oil and gas production can be maintained.
?I urge all of the production sharing contractors (PSC), including KEI, to review their drilling plans this year. We don?t want to see that the current encouraging production from Terang field is only for a short time. We hope it?ll be followed up by next encouraging discoveries from Sirasun and Batur fields, so that all of the TSB (Terang, Sirasun and Batur) will also reach an encouraging production,? said Rudi.
SKK Migas has set this year (2013) as the year of drilling for upstream oil and gas industry. It has been planned that this year there will be drillings of 258 exploration wells and 1,178 development wells, as well as workover of 1,094 wells. In addition to that, there will be 2D seismic surveys along 18,751 km and 3D seismic surveys at 22.298 km square.
