Kangean testing 300 mmscfd gas flow to buyers

Gas flow from Kangean PSC block's Terang, Sirasun and Batur fields, operated by Kangean Energy Indonesia, will be increased to 300 mmscfd starting Monday during a commissioning test, an executive at upstream authority BPMIGAS said.

BPMIGAS Deputy of Operation Rudi Rubiandini said that currently gas is flowing at 150 mmscfd, mainly received by electricity firm PT Perusahaan Lisrik Negara (PLN) and petrochemical firm PT Petrokimia Gresik. ?God willing, we would start testing at 300 mmscfd tomorrow (Monday),? Rudi told petromindo.com on Sunday.

Earlier, PT Energi Mega Persada, which controls Kangean Energy Indonesia , has said that its leased Floating Production Unit vessel was flowing gas from the Terang, Sirasun and Batur fields to the East Java gas pipeline approximately at a rate of 30 mmscfd.

The total output of around 300 mmscfd has been 100 percent contracted at the price of US$ 5.15/mmbtu to PLN, PT Pertagas and PT Indogas, and US$4.93/mmbtu to Petrokimia.
