IDX-listed mining firm PT Kapuas Prima Coal Tbk plans to upgrade its jetty facility in Central Kalimantan Province next year to better facilitate shipment of its production.
This was said by Kapuas Independent Director Padli Noor to Petromindo.com on Monday. He said the company?s jetty currently has a capacity of 7,500 dwt. Once the current smelter project of its affiliate PT Kapuas Prima Citra with capacity of 40,000 tons of lead concentrates is completed next year, the company will have to upgrade the jetty facility so that the concentrates can be shipped without going through barging process.
He added that in the long-run, the company will built a new jetty to reach a capacity of 30,000 dwt as it ramps up production.
Kapuas Prima operates mines in Central Kalimantan producing mineral commodities such as lead, zinc, and iron ores. The company owns a 30 percent interest in PT Kapuas Prima Citra, which is developing a lead smelter with capacity of 40,000 tons of lead concentrates. The company currently produces 20,000 tons of lead bullion per year.
