State-owned electricity firm PT PLN stated that the Karaha Bodas geothermal power plant project in Tasikmalaya, West Java Province, is ready to start operation soon.

"It is expected to be fully operated by June or July of this year," Nasri said. The project with total investment of US$ 72 million is developed by PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy (PGE) and will be integrated with the Jawa-Bali system.
