KBM ramps up coal production

East Kalimantan coal miner PT Kaltim Batu Manunggal (KBM) plans to produce 1 million tonnes of coal in 2008, up from 520,000 tonnes of coal it produced last year.

Director Bob Daud told Petromindo.Com on Monday that the company exports all its production to Taiwan.

The company, which started production from the mine in 2007, produces coal with CV of 6,100-6,300 Kcal/kg.

The company operates in 5,000 hectares concession in Kutai Kartanegara regency with mineable reserves of 20 million tonnes. (denny)
