KBR Asia, Ove Arup to carry out pre-FEED for Probolinggo LNG Hub project

PT Australasia LNG Indonesia (AALNG) has appointed KBR Asia Pacific (KBR) and Ove Arup & Partners Hong Kong (Amp) to carry out pre-FEED study for its US$468 million LNG Hub project in Probolinggo, East Java, Bisnis Indonesia reported on Monday.

The paper said that the two firms are expected to complete the study within three months, in the hope that construction of the project can start in early 2017, and to be completed in 2020.

President Director Australasia LNG Indonesia (AALNG) Arya Setyaki said that the floating storage and regasification facility will supply gas for industries and power plants in East Java.

The regasification facility is designed to have a capacity of up to 5 million tons per annum, but in 2020, it will run at an initial capacity of 1.5 MTPA.

AALNG is teaming up with PT Petrogas Jatim Utama, which is owned by the East Java provincial administration in the project. The two firms signed an MoU in August of this year. (*)
