Local firm PT Kesepuhan Bulk Terminal (KBT) plans to build coal terminal in Patrol sub-district, Indramayu regency, West Java, a company senior officer said as quoted by local media last week.

?The project has obtained principal approval from investment coordinating board (BKPM),? KBT?s commissioner Pangeran Raja Adipati Arief Natadiningrat said last week when he met West Java Governor Ahmad Heryawan in Bandung.

He said that the project will cost around Rp1.3 trillion (1US$ = 9,050), while the completion of the project is expected to be completed in the end of 2012.

The capacity of the coal terminal will be adjusted to fulfill coal supply to power plant in Java.

Arief, who is also the Sultan of the Cirebon Palace, said that KBT will be developed in cooperation with state electricity firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) and state railway PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI).

KAI will build a 15-20 kilometers new coal railway from Cilege to Patrol with 40 wagons, which will be operated in 24 hours a day, he added. (*)
