KDL, Siemens forms partnership for transformer repairs

PT Krakatau Daya Listrik (KDL), an Indonesian power company and subsidiary of IDX-listed steel maker PT Krakatau Steel Tbk officially launched on Wednesday a strategic partnership agreement with the Energy Management Division of PT Siemens Indonesia to perform repair and test for transformers in Indonesia.
Siemens said in a statement that the Siemens Energy Management Division is one of the leading global suppliers of products, systems, solutions, and services for the economical, reliable, and intelligent transmission and distribution of electrical power.
The official ceremony took place at the Jakarta Convention Center between Alugoro Mulyowahyudi, President Director of KDL and Josef Winter, President Director and CEO of PT Siemens Indonesia.
Under the agreement, Siemens will become KDL's collaborating partner in transformer testing and repairs in Indonesia.
Through this partnership, Siemens said in the statement that KDL can leverage the competency development of its personnel, reduce cost for transformer repair and refurbishment, optimize the utilization of its existing facility and help generate more business opportunities for both companies.
