PT Pertamina EP Cepu (PEPC), an indirect subsidiary of state-owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina, said that the Kedung Keris field in Cepu block, East Java Province, is scheduled to be on stream in the fourth quarter of 2018.

?In Q4 2018, the Kedung Keris field is ready to start production," President Director of PEPC Adriansyah told Petromindo.com over the weekend.

Adriansyah said, in Kedung Keris there is no development drilling, just with one existing well. "(We) just build a pipeline to Banyu Urip and now its early civil work is already underway,? he said.

In June of last year, the Plan of Development (POD) of the field was approved by upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas.

PEPC holds a 45 percent interest in the Cepu block. ExxonMobil Cepu Ltd (EMCL) holds another 45 percent interest in the block as operator, while the remaining 10 percent are held by minority local investors.

EMCL found oil reserves at Kedung Keris field in 2011. EMCL said previously that once the POD has been approved, and production starts, the output from the Kedung Keris field will be processed at the central processing facility (CPF) of the Banyu Urip field, thus increasing the production of the Cepu block.
