KEM's apology fails to satisfy Kutai councilors

Members of the Kutai regency's council in East Kalimantan, who were disappointed by the alleged lack of hospitality showed by gold mining company PT Kelian Equatorial Mining (KEM) during their recent visit to the company, remained in a bad mood towards the company despite the fact the company had said "sorry", Suara Kaltim reported.
Several councilors said they could not accept the company's apology because it expressed it the speaker of the council rather than to the councilors who visited the company.
They said the way the company expressed the apology had further disappointed them.
The councilors were disappointed by the fact that during their recent visit to the company, the company had left them at a nearby port to wait for one hour before the company's car arrive to pick them up.
Upon arriving at the company's site, the councilors were denied immediate entry into the site. They should wait at the lobby of the company's office for one hour until the company's spokesman came to meet them.
The councilors said the company had treated as if they were asking the company for money.
Two KEM's staff, Erwin Siahaan and Mulyadi, visited on Wednesday the council to express the company's apology for the case. (*)
