Kendari power plant to start construction next year

IDX-listed coal and energy company PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk (DSS) hopes to start construction of a 2x50 MW coal-fired power plant in Kendari,Southeast Sulawesi, next year.

DSS Director and Corporate Secretary Hermawan Tarjono said recently his company is currently at the stage of preparing the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) to be signed with state utility PLN.

He explained that that after the signing of the PPA, the company normally will be given one for financial closing.

He added that construction process is expected to take about 3-4 years to complete.

Its affiliated IDX-listed coal miner PT Golden Energy Mines Tbk will supply the coal requirement of the power plant at a volume of less than 1 million tons per year from South Kalimantan.
