Kepodang-Tambak Lorok pipeline lags behind Kepodang gas development

A delay in the planned transport of gas from Kepodang field to the Tambak Lorok power plant seems inevitable due to the slow development of Kepodang-Tambak Lorok gas pipeline.
According to an industrial source, the Kepodang field, operated by Petronas Carigali Muriah Ltd, is scheduled to start producing gas by October 2014, while the Kepodang-Tambak Lorok pipeline -- developed by Bakrie and Brothers -- would only be ready in December 2014 with a potential to May 2015.
The unreadiness of the pipeline will eventually delay the planned gas delivery and cause extra expenditure in the form of preservation cost, the source told Petromindo.com.
Petronas is contracted to supply 116 mmscfd from the field to the Tambak Lorok power plant belonging to state utility firm PT PLN.
