Keppel secures $14 million repeat swamp barge order from Apexindo

Singapore based Keppel Corporation Limited said on Tuesday its offshore unit Keppel Offshore & Marine Ltd (Keppel O&M), had clinched another contract to build a swamp barge from repeat customer, PT Apexindo Pratama Duta Tbk.
The swamp barge will be deployed for TotalFinaElf Indonesie in Tunu Field, East Kalimantan, for a period of three years, Keppel said.
Keppel said the S$25 million or approximately US$14.1 million (S$ = US$0.5645) contract for the swamp barge, Yani, is the third contract PT Apexindo had awarded to Keppel FELS Ltd, after swamp barge Raisa, and Maera.
Construction of Yani will take close to eight months, and delivery is scheduled for May 2003, the company said in a statement.
Drilling company Apexindo is a subsidiary of publicly listed oil producer PT Medco Energi International Tbk. (robert)
