The West Kerendan-1 well in Bangkanai PSC, Central Kalimantan, which is operated by UK-based Ophir Energy plc, is planned to start gas production in the first quarter of 2019.

?The Put on Production (POP) plan of the West Kerendan-1 well has recently been approved by SKK Migas (upstream oil and gas authority) and the well is estimated to come on stream in the first quarter of 2019,? a source said to Petromindo.com on Friday.

The company said in a statement in January that it is a critical step to enabling Ophir to monetize an additional 50 Bcf of gas in the Kerendan area which is expected to add circa 7 MMscfd to the production profile from 2019.

Ophir Indonesia (Bangkanai) Ltd holds a 70 percent operating interest in the Bangkanai PSC, and PT Saka Energi Bangkanai Kalimantan holds the remaining 30 percent interest.
