Ketapang PSC to commence oil production in Q4 2008

The Bukit Tua field of Ketapang PSC offshore East Java is expected to commence oil production in the fourth quarter of 2008, an official at upstream authority BP Migas said Friday.
?Based on the plan of development, the field (Bukit Tua) will produce oil at an initial rate of 20,000 barrel per day. The peak of oil output is expected to reach in the same quarter (Q4), however, it depends on the development stage,? Chief of BP Migas, Kardaya, said.
Ketapang PSC is operated by ConocoPhillips with a 50 percent working interest. ConocoPhillips? partner is PETRONAS Carigali Overseas Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Malaysian national oil and gas corporation PETRONAS, which holds the remaining 50 percent.
ConocoPhillips completed an appraisal well of the Bukit Tua field in 2005. The PoD for the field was submitted to BP Migas in December 2005. (Godang)
