Kideco coal output hits target 11.3 million tons in 2002

East Kalimantan-based coal miner PT Kideco Jaya Agung said on Thursday it had produced 11.3 million tons of coal in 2002, up from 10.38 million tons in the previous year.

?Last year?s production hit the target of 11.3 million tons,? company administration manager Ali Patan told Petromindo.Com.

He said the company planned to raise the output to 12.5 million tons in 2003 for its traditional market.

Most of Kideco?s products are shipped to Korea, Taiwan, Slovenia, Japan and The Philippines. Domestically it sells coal to Indonesia Power.

Kideco is one of Indonesia?s top coal producers, operating a coalmine in Pasir regency, East Kalimantan. The company is fully owned by Sam Tan Co. Ltd of South Korea. (godang)
