Indonesian coal miner PT Kideco Jaya Agung claimed it managed to meet its targeted coal production for the first semester of this year, supposedly half of the year's target of 34 million tons.
"For the half year production, we are on target," company director Binsar Marpaung told Petromindo.com without elaborating the exact output capacity.
The company produced 8.1 million tons of coal in the first quarter of 2012 or 103 percent from its targeted 7.9 million tons. The company is set to produce 8.7 million tons of coal in the second quarter of 2012 from its coal mine in Batu Kajang, Tanah Grogot East Kalimantan.
Kideco has about 600 million tons of reserves scattered within four parts of its 50,400 hectares concession in Batu Kajang. Most of the coal are for export to China, Korea, Slovenia, India and Japan.
