Power plant operator PT.Pembangkitan Jawa Bali (PJB) said on Tuesday that East Kalimantan coal miner PT.Kideco Jaya Agung had withdrawn from a 5-year coal supply deal to its Paiton power plant in Probolinggo, East Java.
Tender Committee Official Harry Purnomo told Petromindo.Com that the miner had notified decision to quit even before it submitted price proposal.
PJB would have directly appointed Kideco as supplier for 480,000 TPA 4,800Kcal/kg coal as re-tender held by PJB in September 2008 only attracted one bidder.
Purnomo said in October that the company would hold another tender should supply deal with Kideco fail. (denny)
