Kideco records H1 production jump

East Kalimantan coal miner PT. Kideco Jaya Agung produced 6.72 million tons of coal during the first half of 2003, significantly higher than last year?s corresponding period production of 5.66 million tons.
?We produced around 3.46 million tons of coal in the second quarter,? said Kideco?s administration manager Ali Patan. Kideco produced 3.26 million tons of coal in the first quarter this year.
He also said Kideco planned to produce 3.12 million tons for the next quarter.
Kideco, a subsidiary of Sam Tan Co. Ltd of South Korea, plans to produce around 12.5 million tons this year from its coalmine in Pasir regency, East Kalimantan. Kideco currently has production capacity of 14 million tons annually. (godang)
