Kideco records Q1 production jump

East Kalimantan based coal-mining firm Kideco Jaya Agung recorded coal production of 2.83 million tons during the first quarter of 2002, higher than last year?s corresponding period production of 2.1 million tons, according to the data submitted to the government.
The company produced 2.57 million tons of coal in the fourth quarter of 2001.
Kideco is one of Indonesia?s top coal producers, operating a coalmine in Pasir regency, East Kalimantan.The company, which is currently wholly owned by Sam Tan Co.Ltd of South Korea, plans to produce some 11.5 million tons of coal in 2002. (godang/robert)
